Art has been Andrea’s passion all her life.  She received her BFA from Minneapolis School of Art and Design, with a double major in sculpture and painting and a minor in film. She attended the Whitney Museum Indenpendant Study program in 1980 as part of her graduate work. See Andrea's Bio. See Andrea's Art & Exhibtion resume.

During her twenty five years as an IATSE Local 600 union camera assistant on Major Motion Pictures, focus resume, Andrea worked directly with many academy award winning Cinematographers, Directors and actors. As a Certified Professional Photographer Andrea’s merits include Adobe Photoshop Mastery, books and publications including Shoshana Katzman’s, “Qi Gong For Staying Young” and more recently “Art of Seeing” a juried creative photography book published by Alcove Books of San Francisco as well as covers for KIWI a new magazine promoting healthy living. Her work also appeared in the Travel section of the Baltimore Sun Newspaper.

As the leading certifying agency for Imaging professionals, the Professional Photographic Certification program, CPP is the standard of excellence and recognized throughout the  photographic industry. When a photographer displays the Certified Professional Photographer seal, she or he is among the less then 3 percent of all imaging professionals who have successfully completed and maintained professional agency requirements. This is Andre'a 5th year  being CPP and she just passed her recertification requirements to continue her status as PPA Certified.

The team here at  A Phox Photo includes Lance, Andrea's husband, who has been working as a  freelance Film Electrician for 30 years as part of  I.A.T.S.E Union Local 52. Lance is a  Gaffer and Film Electirician serving the the Motion Picture and Entertainment Industry. Lately Lance has been working on numerous Television shows as well as commercials, see resume.  Together they're cinematic specialites combine nicely to choose the correct camera angles and comlimentary placement of  their soft source off camera light ing insturments  Lance and Andrea's off-camera lighting system adds classic dimension to their subjects sessions resulting in pleasing masterful portraiture.

Together their attention to detail insures everyone will look their best even in the largest, extended family portraits. The creative shooting sessions can take from between one to three hours depending on age and group size. The results truly capture the energy and grace of every subject.
